Witness the Fitness

Oh I am so smug and proud of that title – although I do now have the Roots Manuva song stuck in my head. Anyway on with the post… I have recently been working hard to lose my college belly that I have adopted over the past 3 years of heavy drinking and take outs. This means eating healthy, 5 a day style, no fad diets.

It also means taking up some Yoga to get some flexibility. I am 21 years old and can barely sit crossed legged. Embarrassing really.

Anyway here’s a glimpse of some of my attempts.

Vera Wang Pink Princess: Review

Pink Princess is the newest of the princess fragrances by Vera Wang. I can tell how much I like it by the fact it’s already half empty and I’ve had it barely a month!

The top notes are very fruity, dewberry and grapefruit mean it’s super summery. It’s also mega sweet as it has undertones of marshmallow – so you will literally smell good enough to eat.

I love the bottle too – although I do find that the sparkles become a bit tedious as they fall off and get everywhere. I find them all over my bedroom and when I took it out in my handbag well…my bag got a full on diva makeover that I had not quite wanted. It does smell gorgeous though, and is great for summer evenings.

Summer Radiance Make Up

This summer is all about radiance balms, healthy glows and dewy skin. My favourites for this look are the soap and glory radiance balm bright here bright now, and also the lovely new highlighter powder from make up atelier paris.

Kiko have become one of my favourite brands and I’ve recently adopted one of their products as my handbag favourite. Plus, even my boyfriend likes it, so it does what is says on the tin (oh eer). It’s called kiss balm and its super sheer, moisturising and also smells tropical. Go to kikocosmetics.com for all their lovely products

Gorgeous Topshop Lip Bullet: review

I recently got a couple of the new Topshop lip bullets and have to say I love them! They have a creamy texture and are super handy for carrying around with you.

Apart from anything else the colour of the red shade is really lovely and perfect for glamour at night. Something I need help with creating the illusion of (despite popular belief)

The colour is rockabilly and is £8 online or in stores. It’s a good one to keep with you for when you want to quickly go from day to night! Well done Topshop – again!

Do The Bright Thing: Review

Screen shot 2013-06-06 at 21.16.09

So basically Benefit produce such gorgeous boxes and recently in an attempt for summer dewy skin I put one of their latest Do The Bright thing to the test. My favourite products where That Gal primer, which gives a gentle glow and of course, the infamous High Beam highlighter. I mixed That Gal with my foundation, and then used High Beam around the eyes for a brightening effect.

Guest Post: Lush Sea Spray Review

My lovely friend Emma Marshall is an absolute beauty fanatic. From the latest cosmetics to haircare products galore, she has them all. For that reason, she is more than qualified to offer up some great advice when it comes to what works and what doesn’t. Over the next few months I’m going to be bombarding her with products to put to the test so she can tell you, my readers (if there are any of you out there), what you should be looking out for this summer. Here she is with her first fabulous post:
The Lush ‘Sea Spray’ is a hair mist that claims to give body, volume and hold whilst smelling delightful. As a sea salt based spray the ideal outcome is bouncy, beachy waves or curls depending on your hairs natural abilities (I have naturally wavy hair).

The first time I used the spray I applied the product after washing with shampoo and conditioner and then blow dried my hair on a hot setting. As I used a hot heat, the messy beach look I desired was not the outcome. However, it left my hair feeling extemely soft and looking incredibly shiny. The ends of my hair certainly had some sort of bounce too, keeping some of the promises on the bottle.

Take 2: Time to take a new approach.

I used the product again after washing my hair. This time I spritzed the product throughout my hair and brushed it in. I then used a cooler setting and blow dried my hair upsidedown for a couple of minutes. I then left it to dry naturally. The outcome was exactly what I had hoped for, messy, beachy waves, whilst feeling soft to touch and smelling exquisite.

The product itself does exactly what it’s meant to and is definitely one for the summer, whether you use it on holiday to carry on the beach wave look into the night or at a festival for a quick hair revival. I will certainly be keeping this spray in my haircare regime.

Models Own Scented Nail Vanish Review

The latest trend in home manicures are these lovely little scented vanishes from Models Own (£5 boots.com). They come in on-trend gorgeous chalky pastels that are fantastic for the summer.

photo 1The vanishes leave a sweet subtle scent once dry, which reminds me of my youth with scratch and sniff and also smelly gel pens (who remembers those?!) I love these.
